Commission : Discord - Next Level Asset

Another few hours has passed by, I guess its time to show off another chunk of the commission I’m doing for my best customer, Mr. gunflame345. Hopefully, this along with all the rest of the pics I’m posting should give you guys and gals out there a firm grasp on what sets my Next Level commissions apart.

So lets talk about Discord shall we?

First off, the dude is a chimera. A mix-match of different animals that is dubbed a “Draconequus”, which from my dummy logic amounts to a miss-mash of a dragon and a horse…. Never mind the obvious lion arm and bird talons… guy is all over the place.

It does add its own challenge to drawing him in a more detailed style. I was really winging it in the dark about how I wanted to add details to the guy. Some decisions were obvious. The ribbing on his bird arm is something I’m quite familiar with doing from my days of drawing animals. Other decisions took a leap of faith. I gave his jaw and inner mouth very reptilian qualities to complement the dragon in his blood. Then, on top of all that, I had to maintain his crazy facade. I don’t know much about the character, but I do know he follows no real form of logic.

So throw some body parts together and this sucker is born. I’m pretty happy with the choices I made. His longer fur texture sells his body type to the viewer, and the twisted grin looks pretty off the wall to me. I even got to get a little bit extra done. The man actually has taste buds for goodness sake. You can zoom in and see them.
I’m still not 100% sure of what to make of Discord. This is only my second time drawing him. But I do know that he’s looking good right here. ^^

Keep checking back on my account throughout the day. I’ve got a handful of these next level commission samples to get through before the big fish belly flops into the pond. I hope your bodies are ready, cause when you see the main event you’ll know things just got real.
