Description

Alright, I made some good progress last month so let’s get this month started off on the right foot. Here we have some more repeat business from my pal :iconsnicketbar:. This time he lined up a little more chapter art for his Sonic/MLP crossover story, Battle for Equestria.

This pic hails from chapter 7 to be precise. Here, I’ll drop a link so you lot can give it a read.

So let’s talk some art shall we? In one corner, we’ve got everyone’s favorite lycanthropy lauding hero. The bellowing beast in blue, the hulking head honcho, the bedtime brawler,  the macho mauler and the Half-hog, half-wolf, half-amazing (yes he’s 150%) Sonic the Werehog. Tonight he’s in for a rumble as he’s opposed by the original thing that goes bump in the night. She is what ponies are afraid of. From what I can tell she may be the equestrian embodiment of fear. Of course I’m talking about the former Princess of the night Luna, and current Nightmare Moon.

So what happens when these two creatures of the night go at it? We’ll whatever the end result is you know I’m gonna get my popcorn ready.

This one was actually a lot of fun to draw. Snicketbar gave me plenty of flexibility to tackle this sucker as I saw fit, and that’s how I do my best work. I really wanted to pull it in high and tight. Both characters here have a nice set of chompers and top tier snarls, so it would be a shame to miss out on all that. Plus, with all that stretching, you know Werehog likes to keep his fights up close and personal.

I did have to make a small concession to the thickness of Nightmare’s colored lineart, but aside from that these two mesh really well together. Drawing black and blue characters trying to make each other blacker and bluer makes for a very appealing scene. Hit it with a dose of special effects action, and boom, a chilling fight scene is born.

Once again, I need to step out and thank Snicketbar for coming out and choosing me to tackle the art for this chapter. Always a pleasure working with you, especially when the end result is something this fun.

Per the norm, you guys know the drill. If anyone else would like to talk to me about some commission work, then you’re looking at the right pen for hire. I’m an artistic assassin looking for work. A mercenary looking to get paid. How much you ask? We’ll I’ll let you know. Merc’s get paid money – and for information on how much money it’ll take to bank a BroDogz commission, you need look no farther than my price chart.
