Target Locked

Another Surprise entry into the Sonic 20th Anny Series, Julie-Su the Echidna.

She may not be in as many different mediums as some of the other entrants, but she is still a character with a good deal of importance. Her origins run deep through the infamous Dark Legion and she grew into a strong and trusted ally.

I was on the fence on whether or not to add Julie-Su to this cast, but in the end I just used it as another excuse to draw this cool character. She is very unique for a mobian and at the very least she is great practice for other cyborg characters I will do in the future *cough*

I’ve always envisioned Su as a Terminator minus the liquid metal so that inspired the pose as she hunts her objective. She is a little on the difficult side to draw due to the extent of the metal and hair but if you have decent experience drawing Echidnas she is not too bad.

I used several references for this particular Julie-Su. I even went back and found some of Dawn Best’s older works.

Thanks again to everyone who implored me to add Su to the Series, your voices did not fall on deaf ears.

This project was started on the 20th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, June 23, 2011. It will encompass numerous characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, comic books and TV shows.
