Commission : Sonic The Hedgehog - Next Level Asset

Another hour, another asset post from a commission I’m doing forgunflame345. Sit back and take a look at what I’ve got to show you. With a little luck it might answer some questions about the quality of my Next Level commission line.

Alright, enough of the formalities. Time talk about the Blue Blur! Dat Snarl.
I had a pretty good idea of where I wanted to go with Sonic right from the start. I really did get to use quite a few of the tricks I’ve been learning in my time working around DA. As you can see, I’ve brought back the glove stitches that I fell in love with during my banner series of characters. I also re-purposed the eye effect I was tinkering with back when I drew Sonic and Blaze. Last but not least, I put my new Iris detailing trick to good use, giving him that vibrant and radiant color I was looking for.

*juggles chaos emeralds*

This is the real Sonic. Pretty cool huh!.

I managed to give him a look of stern determination and the teeth really sell that one. That is a hero’s scowl right there. Not too far over the line, but just enough to prove its point. I also gave myself a little space to make Sonic’s pose a bit more dynamic than the rest, because y’know, he’s Sonic the Hedgehog. Daddy’s got to get his swag on.

I do like how this one came out. His fists and his pose provide awesome asymmetry that is clean to the eye. I can’t say enough about that. Perhaps I’ll take a page from the Hedgehog’s playbook and back up my talk with some action. I can’t wait till you guys see him in the finished product. That sucker looks glorious. Get Hype.

Okay, I’ve still got some more assets to show you guys, so you know the drill. Same place in a couple of hours. I’m sure the time will fly by faster than Sonic goes through a pile of Chilidogs. Once the characters are done, then the curtains fall back on the main event. Don’t miss it. Get your popcorn ready. Brace for impact. Have your local medical professional on speed dial and most importantly prepare your best cleaning solution. Your going to be cleaning some serious brain stains off of your nearest wall when all is said and done.
